Kylar and Roxanne's Wedding

On Friday, July 13, our family was priviledged to witness the marriage of my little brother (by ten years!) to his high school sweetheart, Roxanne Kamps. Russ and I were chosen to be the master and mistress of reception. We had a lot of fun working together with Kylar and Roxanne to plan a fun reception that didn't go to long into the night. After a little bout with the jitters from Russ of all people (yes he was more nervous than I was, and couldn't even eat some of his food!) things went as planned, and everyone had a good time. We are so very thankful that God has led these two to be joined together, and we pray that God will be their guide as they begin their life together.

The 4th of July

This year for the 4th of July, we decided we would like to go to the beach. It was forecasted to be VERY hot so we knew it was going to be busy. We left our house at 8:45 to ensure that we were able to get a spot on the beach that was right by the water. We met my parents and siblings there, were able to find a good spot, and watched as the beach filled in after us. The water was 72 degrees on Wednesday, so we spent a lot of time in the water. We also dug a huge hole, took walks to the pier and watched as Russ, the boys, and my siblings jumped off the pier over and over again. Calvin had so much fun, that he crashed on my lap for about an hour. We headed home about 4pm.

Later that evening we all gathered at the Gunnink's home to watch Grandville fireworks in their driveway. The kids all had a good time playing together with their cousins despite the HOT weather.
